We’ve enjoyed lots of winter play recently and are actually still in the middle of it all. I’m sharing some of the things we’ve enjoyed so far…
Small World Play
Arctic land… there is a video of this on Instagram here…
Children at play…
Transient Art Snowmen
This was SO popular and they came up with some amazing creations…
This is a family…
I’m keeping this out next week as they are still regularly visiting the area.
Winter Inspired Maths
… counting onto felt mittens and scarves…
Balancing ‘Snowballs’ and ‘Ice’
Actually beads and glass pebbles – so much concentration demonstrated here (the tray is from TTS, here).
Decorating a Winter Tree
Threading frosty coloured beads onto pipe cleaners and hanging them on the branches, along with beaded garlands…
I’ve relocated it to a different place in the classroom as they are still loving the activity.
Some of the boys enjoyed playing with the loose parts without the dough. They said they were making a forest…
Winter Book Basket
Building ‘Icy’ Structures
We don’t have very much of this ‘PlayPlax’, but I separated the clear and blue and put them on the light panel. Just to see what they would do with it really…
Winter Play on the OHP
Trees, snowflakes and numerals…
Hunting for Frost, Snow and Ice
We don’t generally get much snow where we are, so frost and ice is just as exciting!
